There is no doubt that back in the old days Lincoln was one of the best American car manufacturers. The last version of this model was released in 2002, and now it is coming back on the market as the 2016 Lincoln Continental, improved and with some important changes.
At this moment, new Continental has already been revealed at 2016 Detroit Auto Show. And yet there are announcements and speculations about the new Lincoln’s model, but one is for sure, when it officially comes out on the car-market, it will be one of the most beautiful cars in its class. It will come with the top of the class performance, really elegant and classy.
Exterior design of 2016 Lincoln Continental
As for the exterior of the new Lincoln, it is going to be very simple. It is a big vehicle, very stable on the road, built to provide comfort and space for long journeys. This elegant limousine will have four doors, presumably with suicide doors. At the front, there will be square grille with Lincoln’s logo, large rims and LED headlights with neon. These large rims are actually a good design solution to give the model a more expensive and elegant look.
2016 Continental Interior design
Interior wise, this 2016 model will have very classy and elegant inside and it will also come with all kinds of tech features. It is going to have full leather interior, so the dash, the steering wheel, and seats, will all be covered with high class, ultra durable leather, providing extra comfort to all passengers.
This model will be equipped with lots of gadgets and touch screens. It will have seat belts integrated with seats, while the four seats will also have LED lightning. For the good sound, it will be equipped with THX sound system. The commands will be centered on driver’s voice and the use of the touch screens will be kept to the minimum.
Under the hood of 2016 Lincoln Continental
Some of the speculations were pretty sure that under the hood of the new 2016 Lincoln Continental will be a powerful V-8 engine, but it won’t happen. The engine will be a 3.7-liter Cyclone V-6 and it could maybe be replaced with a 2.3-liter EcoBoost 4-cylinder engine. The top class version will be powered with a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 taken from the current MKS. There is a chance that a 6-speed transmission will be replaced with a 9-speed automatic transmission, because it is more economical and used for FWD and AWD systems. The production of this kind of transmission will probably start in the late 2015 which is just in time to be placed in the 2016 Lincoln Continental. It will probably have front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive system.
2016 Continental Lincoln Price and Release date
The price and release date for the 2016 Lincoln Continental is still unknown, but according to some speculations, the release date will probably be somewhere in the second quarter of 2016.
Predicting the price of the model based on the price of the current Lincoln MKS, it will probably be in range of $39.000 to $40.000, perhaps even a little higher, but certainly under $ 50.000.
